Props

I am new to this site. I have a 1980 23 CC that is going to Wilcat Marine next week for a full transom and an Armstong Bracket. It is powered by a 200HP Ocean Pro. I need to know what the best prop would be for this configuration.

I had a 225 on my '78 23' CC. It wouldn't push a 14x19ss, go with a 15x17ss.

Thanks - I have a 19 that has a wicked cup on it right now. I get a good hole shot, but can only get 5k tops on the rpm. I get 30 mph at 4300 rpm. I don't push it any further than that. I know that a lot of people have installed brackets, and was wondering if it will require something different. I am afraid that I will be way underpowered with the 200 due to additional length an weight.

Thats a hard question. YOu can run two of the same boats set up the same way and they will turn different prop sizes. The dealer should be able to prop the boat for you. Be sure to try a 4 blade prop. That will be the best to go with. THe problem is if your dealer does not offer finding the right prop you can spend alot of money trying different props. If its a good dealer they will offer this service.

Re: Props

you will not pick up 1000 rpms from a bracket. Going to a 17 should raise you to 53-5400 so even with the bracket you won't break the 6k redline. WOT range is 5-6k.
