79' Sceptre

Finally finished major overhall, paint, etc,. on my 79' Sceptre bought on Ebay several months ago. I'm installing a healthy older 225 Evinrude til I can save bucks for a new Yamaha. Are trim tabs absolutely necessary or should I dunk it and see?

I got away without them. I think they would have been nice for adjusting side to site but never had a problem getting on a step. I had a 98 225 johnson and it worked fine. 40MPH max 30 cruise at around 4700.
Post some pics, I'd like to see how it came out. Feels goood to be done, dosen't it!!

I have them on my Sceptre. Biggest help is with side to side adjustment like That70sboat said. We never need them getting on plane or adjusting bow angle, the engine trim takes care of that.
