23 full transom

I recently purchased a 1976 23 foot seacraft and have many questions regarding the restoration process. First question is since mine has a full transom and apart from relying solely on bilge bumps is there a way to create scuppers and or drains to
rid excess water in the boat. I charter and many times point the bow into rocky areas for my clients to cast into. Currently with my mako I don't take alot of waves but every once in a while I do get water from a wave in the boat. Is there a design motification for the full transom version?
thanks.

Go to Sept 20 in this section Scuppers and at the bottom you will find a drawing to relocate the scupper thru the transom. There is also a thread on the VORTEX that is used on thru the bottom drain, I believe. There are also several other threads about rabuds and other ball type stoppers.

I wouldn't put any holes in your boat. Don't mess up a good thing. Just have 2 bilge pumps or 3 if you really want to go nuts.

Hey Pete!
Congrats on the new hull! Just what you needed-another winter working on a boat! Drop me a line if you need any help with this one, materials, or whatever.

You must be pretty happy after such a long search!

Welcome Pete,
If you've got waves breaking over a full transom boat I'd say its time to turn around. Don't worry about the scuppers.

RS - up here the best bass fishing can often be found tight to the rocks in a big swell. Common practice is to run the boat close to the surfbreak and ride the edge while casting your plugs (or fly) along the shoreline.... Get a nice SE and big rollers here in RI

I think this is my 1000 post - must celebrate
