Otto,

Don's canvas guy made me T-Top spray curtains just like those. If Don can't answer the question, maybe he can furnish you the guys phone number.

Good luck.

Hi Otto-

I have a bow dodger on my Mako. It was made by AA- Boat tops in Jupiter, FL. 12 years old and still works well.

With that said, I would recommend that whoever builds you one.....make it with three bows (instead of two), stainless steel (over aluminium), privacy curtain (if you live in a buggy area you may want to include a mesh screen too), and a window.

When they are taking measurements, you should be standing at the helm so that it is not built so tall that you cannot see over it while under power.

Also, you should request that you use no-rot thread.

Good luck.

Ed

Are you thinking of a T-top for the 23???

Had a dodger before ....gone now ...and wont put it back (for now) I'm getting real conservative on how many holes go in the new glasswork

The "phone booth" ...depends on what your looking for and how much protection ....

It looks like I'm not even going to replace the Plexi/lexan windshield/screen .... I've been looking into a front panel from EZ2CY ($$$)....then removable side curtains on "C" tracks that will most likely "wing out" to the gunwales

Re: Spray dodger

Scott,

The boat came with a t-top. It needs to be powder coated and recovered. I'll start the season without it. I like the EZ2CY option. With that, one could probably do without the windscreen.

Ed,

Thanks for that advice on the dodger. My girls don't like cold/wind/rain, so it will get their nod. I agree with the curtain, as I'd like to try some "camping". And yes, we do have "bugs" up here, so a zip out roll-up flap with screen would be nice.

Re: Spray dodger

Otto ...Its real nice stuff ... and clear as glass ... just a little scary when you hear the price .... We can go interrogate the EZ2CY rep at the AC show .... maybe we can get a group discount !!!! I’m sure you know it can’t be rolled so basically the panel has to stay up or you take it off the boat …. Up here that’s not an issue and will render more protection than just the windscreen/shield…

I hope you guys don't mind my reviving this thread.
I'm new to the forum and just bought a '73 Potter 23' CC. I'd like a bow dodger w\ rear curtain. Does anybody have any idea of somebody that may make this? I wish I caught this site before last weekend, b\c I just trailered the boat from Jupiter to Jax last weekend.
Anybody have an idea how much something like this might cost?
Thanks all and great to be on the forum!

Re: Spray dodger

Any decent canvas guys shoiuld be able to make all of it. I have a suggestion here in Chas. if you don't find someone. Mine came with dodger, 3 bows, open in back. I had curtains w/wings made when top fabric was replced. Top w/zippered climb-thru door for tower, 3 sided curtains w/frt. zip window, wings, installed $1700. He comes to the boat.

Re: Spray dodger

You feel like selling your dodger? :-)
Did this guy make it for you, or did you say that it came w\ the boat?
Thanks!

Re: Spray dodger

Dodger came with boat but any competent shop could do it. You will have a hole where the end of the bow is, 6 for 3 bows plus snaps. I'll think about selling. The one pictured looks like a folding bimini top.
