My fuel gauge is Sick

My fuel gauge stopped working.

It appears in good shape visualy, no corrosion, all connections tight as a tick. I keep all guages sprayed with corrosion block..Now I had a new sending unit installed when I replaced the fuel tank in 1995. I hate to have to unseal the inspection plate and unseal the sending unit at the top of the tank and just replace it but if this the most reasonable approarch I'll do it.??
I filled the tank and hit some wakes hoping it was just stuck but no luck. Thanks for some feedback to fix it

Capt Chuck,

Let's hit the fuel dock, I'll fill it up, and we won't get out of cell phone range

Cat. Chuck,
Your sending unit is toast. My new classic Donzi came from the factory with a bad sending unit. Put in the new one and it now makes a better guess at how much fuel is in the tank than me.
