What about paint?

I'm ready to turn my 20 SF over and get it ready to paint. When I was ordering the Awlgrip I read
"above water line use only".
I don't want to put "bottom" paint on it, what else can I put on the bottom?

Re: What about paint?

I AM IN THE PAINTING PROCESS AS WELL I HAVE TALKED TO THE AWLGRIP GUYS AT THE MIAMI BOAT SHOP. THEY SAY IF YOU DON'T KEEP THE BOAT IN THE WATER MORE THAT A WEEK OR SO AT ANY ONE TIME YOU WILL BE OK WITH THEIR TOP COAT PAINTS. IF YOUR BOAT SITS IN THE WATER THOUGH YOU WILL HAVE TO DO WITH A BOTTOM PAINT.

There is also the option of Re-gelcoating the bottom. Much more labor intensive and still not 100% water inpervious but better than awl-grip on the bottom. Aren't you going to leave the boat in the water?
