Bow mounted trolling motor

I was wondering if anyone has any info or comments about putting a bow mounted trolling motor on a twenty foot CC.
Thanks for any and all
Bob

Re: Bow mounted trolling motor

I installed mine using a Minn Kota quick release mount I found in Cabelas. It is two pieces. The flat aluminum base is mounted on the bow with four bolts. The other part mounts directly to the trolling motor (it could tapped and drilled to fit any motor)with four bolts. To install or remove it you just slide the motor onto the base and put a quick release pin in to keep it together. I fish offshore and this was the cleanest install I could find that allows me to remove it quickly.

Mine motor is a 36Lb thrust 12 volt Minn Kota. It pulls the boat great unless wind or current are really riping.

Thanks for the input Evenbroker.
I too plan on using the quick mount. Glad to hear that 36 lbs pulls you OK. I'll probably go with a 24V 72 lb Minn Kota to combat the strong tide in the North River.
What length shaft did you use? And is it adequate?

I got the longest shaft they offered in the catalog and it works fine. I also got the auto pilot version and love it. It is the best trolling motor I have owned.
