LOOKS LIKE YOU DID A GOOD JOB ON THE BOAT. DID YOU USE EPOXY OR POLYESTER RESIN ON THE REPAIR WORK?

Hi Fellowship, I used the West System epoxy. As I said before, no past experience in this type of repair made me a little nervous at first. The boat yard here in New York gave me a 1,000.00 estimate for the work ( and they said it may cost more) and you know what that means. After studying the West book and getting good advice from you and the other members, I had the confidence I needed. I'm happy with the repair, it is rock solid. Some guy in the boat yard was watching my work progress( he had a lot of glass experience) and he told me if I hit something hard, the rest of the boat would fall apart before the repair area! John, THANKS for posting the pics. Marc 1973 SeaCraft sceptre

YA I REMEMBER THE CONVERSATION ON THE MATERIALS BEFORE YOU STARTED. I JUST DIDN’T KNOW IF THAT’S THE WAY YOU DECIDED TO GO WITH. I REALLY LIKE THE WEST SYSTEM MYSELF AND I WOULD USE IT AGAIN. I KNOW IT COST A LOT MORE THAT POLYESTER BUT THE RESULTS ARE GREAT. I MUST HAVE USED 12-15 GAL OF THE STUFF ON MY 23’. I KNOW THAT IF I WAS DOING THIS TYPE OF WORK FOR A LIVING I COULDN’T PASS THAT TYPE OF EXTRA EXPENSES ON TO A JOB. BUT SINCE I DO THIS TYPE OF STUFF JUST FOR MY BOAT AND THIS IS MY HOBBY IT’S WORTH THE EXTRA $$$.
