Line-X Deck
Hi Guys-
Happy New Year to All, may it be a good one! Has anyone used a product called Line-X to coat their deck? I got talking with a lobsterman who ahd just built a 37 Duffy. His buddy owns a Line-X franchise and he was planning on getting his decks coated with the stuff. If anyone isn't familiar with the product, it is largely used as a liner for pickup trucks. It is sprayed in and bonds to the surface of the truck and it is claimed to prevent moisture from rotting the bed of the pickup. I haven't seen the lobsterman to see how it came out, but it seemed like an interesting idea. I would think for his application, throwing pots around on the deck, it would be ideal. I am concerned about not having easy access underneath the deck. Any thoughts? Thanks, Hooper |
Re: Line-X Deck
Hooper,I have heard that some of the Carolina boat builders were using the stuff in there engine rooms, but I do not know if this is true.
I would use it if you could get a white, but apparantly, the sunlight makes it turn a wierd color, the black would hold up ,but be too damn hot. good luck. JW |
Re: Line-X Deck
heard a few lobstermen have used it up here near the cape... but the traps wont slide off it so well... it'd work great on boats with trap chutes
