Line-X Deck

Hi Guys-

Happy New Year to All, may it be a good one!

Has anyone used a product called Line-X to coat their deck? I got talking with a lobsterman who ahd just built a 37 Duffy. His buddy owns a Line-X franchise and he was planning on getting his decks coated with the stuff. If anyone isn't familiar with the product, it is largely used as a liner for pickup trucks. It is sprayed in and bonds to the surface of the truck and it is claimed to prevent moisture from rotting the bed of the pickup. I haven't seen the lobsterman to see how it came out, but it seemed like an interesting idea. I would think for his application, throwing pots around on the deck, it would be ideal. I am concerned about not having easy access underneath the deck.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Hooper

Hooper,I have heard that some of the Carolina boat builders were using the stuff in there engine rooms, but I do not know if this is true.
I would use it if you could get a white, but apparantly, the sunlight makes it turn a wierd color, the black would hold up ,but be too damn hot.
good luck.

heard a few lobstermen have used it up here near the cape... but the traps wont slide off it so well... it'd work great on boats with trap chutes
