Steering system

The 20 ft cc crowd. I just removed my mercruiser steering system from my 20ft cc I/O. I want to replace it, is the bezel 20 degrees? I am planning on going with a teleflex NFB cable system. Hydralic is too damn expensive. I figure a nice wheel eith a suicide knob will be the bees knees.
Any thought?

Re: Steering system

JW, one caution- when I went from mercruiser to NFB I learned the hard way that the system turns the opposite way. I ran the cable the same way as it came out and I turned to port the boat went starboard !!try that while fishing ,turning into canals etc !!!I ended up having to run my cable down the middle of the bilge and making a 180 degree turn on the port side as my boat has no access on the port side. Not saying it wont work on yours, just my experiance on my inboard. I still have an nfb helm, e-mail me your address and you can have it if you like- should still be fine-craig
