To foam or not to foam
 

Anyone with any thoughts about putting foam between the hull and the inner liner. If so what kind.
Someone told me the foam will eventually soak water.??

Thanks Lurch, that was my thought too. But I'm not sure if there is a closed cell foam that won't soak up water.

Do a search on closed cell here and at the classic whaler site and you'll find the answer - I seem to remember that the closed cell would be fine as long as you poured the right amount. Anytime you cut it to fit or shape its no longer closed cell - or something like that...

Personaly I would not do it. If you could seal it 100% where no water would ever get to it it might be ok.

I had an old navy 33' mk3 wich had about 1 - 2 feet of foam in the sides. It was soaking wet and was a major PITA to remove. It also added abot a 900lbs of extra weight.(when it was wet)

Just my thought.
