Livewell plumbing

Need some input from someone who knows what a 1976 20' Master Angler looks like with the floor removed. I have built a livewell into the space below the front seat of the console and plan to run the drain via shortest route, out the side of the hull. Was planing on a 6" deck plate for access and installing a thru hull just below the floor. But have this concern that the intended path of the drain hose is thru the foamed floatation area. Had a 23' that had the same livewell location, thats where I got the idea. The livewell in the Master Angler is useless so I need to make the change.
Can anyone tell me what hornets nest I have opened or ??
My email is kenpoole@rand.net
Thanks
