Wood Rot
Please pardon me if this is an old subject, but I had a few questions concerning wood rot while looking for my next SeaCraft. What signs do I look for in the transom and stringer areas? Can I detect it with limited means of detection? Instead of using wood as a core, has anyone had experience with the poly/epoxy solid fills? It seems if you want to eliminate rot, that would be the way to go!

Re: Wood Rot
Tapping on the hull with a rubber mallot is a good way to begin to determine if water intrusion is a concern. Also try to remove a screw from a transducer, or trim tab. If there is any sign of moisture you have a problem. You can either keep looking or use a soft trasom as a barganing tool.
