18ft Owners Please?
 

O.K., I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but today, I almost put my 18 under. The boat sitting still took on water from the live well, which over filled into the boat floating the coolers and scaring the crap out of me. the "T" valves on the live well plumbing were closed. Where and What the Heck happened? Is this common for live well in an 18 to fill past capacity? Help Please? Answer here or E-mail me! [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img]

Ted, Not sure what year your boat is but i am assuming it is like mine (1986) and the livewell is below the deck. The water level will only rise as high as the waterline of the boat. The problem is, if your waterline is ABOVE the level of the top of your livewell, it will overfill. I'm not sure what kind of engine and weight you are dealing with, but i took my livewell completely out and went with an above deck unit. Of course, it will not be self filling and you will have to use a pump, but at least your boat won't sink.

Mine is a 75 Potter hull but think its the same design. How did you seal yours off? Did you make it waterproof? I am pushing a 200 HP outboard on mine.
