I've seen a few and they all seam to work good and look ok. Just make sure you pedestals are good and tight and bolted down well, because your adding more stress to them with the taller leaning post

A buddy of mine has one of these slip-on leaning posts and it works really well. There aren't any tags on it, so I don't know who made it. It's held in place by 4 bolts, 2 on each pedestal, and it's very solid.

my 20 cc currently has two pedestal seats and i am considering adding a leaning post that slides over the pedestals. does anyone have any experience with these? thanks for your feedback.

"Bill" or "Robin" at Smiity's.They have whats called a pedistal adapter set,Then put a leaning / rocket seat on it.(have all types of these also)

Unless you want to have the ability to switch back and forth between the leaning post and the captain's chairs, I would suggest ditching the pedestals and getting a leaner that has four smaller (maybe 1.5" dia) legs at the edges. That floor space under the leaner is very valuable for storage and we all know that in boats, making the most of your space is an absolute must. Retaining the pedestals will prevent you from getting a nice 72 qt. cooler or a portable fuel tank in there.

That's what I plan to do.

My buddy's setup has offset legs, similar to an offset fighting chair, so it allows for a cooler to be slid underneath. It's a nice design, although I'd opt for a permanent leaning post myself.

I agree with Mark on the Birdsall deal. I have the mini on my 23' and wouldn't go any other route. Like Don said the added pressure to the existing pedalstals will cause problems. I think by taking the seat on and off the metal edges get all buggered up and worn and then the seat shifts and rattles etc. I would go the expense and remove the two pedalstal seats and go the rocket launcher. This will also provide space for a cooler underneath which you can't do with the seat stanchions.Make sure you use some good sealant.
