25' Seafari

Ebeach hipped me to a 25' Seafari in Harwich. Not quite the boat I'm looking for. My cousin gave it a once over and thought it was in nice, sound shape (he knows boats...I think he was raised in one) He didn't like the OMC motor and drive (not in bad shape, just doesn't like OMC motors and drives, can't blame'em) If any one is interested I have pic's. Their ask'in 13k, but said he's negotiatable.

Negotiatable? Finster I looked at that boat a couple months ago and they only wanted 10K. Boats in good shape engine and drive look worse than they probably are but the drive is old! I think it predates power trim has tilt only also they are no longer made. Big project to replace because the hole in the transom is to big for another drive to drop right in. Electronics Ok but not newer stuff either, boats been for sale for a while. A new big block with a Bravo three outdrive and she would be a runner. It does need an update in the wiring/switch department. There was an older post here http://www.classicseacraft.com/cgi-b...c;f=4;t=000030
Steve said its been for sale for three years. Sure is a big boat.

Ebeach said 10k as well. Apparently the outdrive was redone resent...??? I am not plugging the boat I am just reporting...My thought was to take out the i/o and put on a bracket and twins not that I'm gonna do it.

If I remember right they told me the drive was rebuilt last year and the engine was a 96. I went right over to look at it cause I thought it was a 23'. It did have nice full canvas to keep you dry, would have liked to gone for a ride in it on a rough day to see how a 25' rides. The price probably goes up in the spring and down in the fall. Its a good project for some body.

I don't know for sure but I would think with length, weight and high center of gravity on that narrow beamed boat that it would roll like a son of a gun....put the wife and kids in that cabin on a sloppy day.
