Pompano????
Could any of you Florida residents suggest where I might be able to catch a pompano from the beach on fly and what would be the best month to do it in??
No need to worry about me adding to the local crowd, I just need to catch ONE to add to the list of species I've caught on fly. Any suggestions would be appreciated/ mark |
Re: Pompano????
Mark, if you figure it out, I'd be happy to be on the catching end while your on the shooting........I hope that sounded right.

Re: Pompano????
Thanks Finster,
I went to that site and got completely sidetracked from my pompano quest. There was a lot of interesting stuff on there. |
Re: Pompano????
http://www.flyfishsaltwaters.com is a great site, and interestingly, the owner/admin - Jeff - is a member here. I think he went by the name of SeaBird or something... Class site with some fantastic people...

Re: Pompano????
Mark,
your best bet would be on the gulf side, i have great luck in Naples, FL. in the months of june -july, pampano and sheephead compete for the same type of bait too...try night fishing but be careful if you surf to deep there are many sharks in that area... |
