trim tabs

anyone have any thoughts on how important it is to have trim tabs on a single engine 23?

I'd rate trim tabs as very important equipment on any planing hull 20 ft and over unless all of your boating is in back bays and calm waters. Then it would just be important.

Re: trim tabs

The tabs are great for nosing the bow down in a stiff head sea, as well as levelling the boat side to side. On my father's Sceptre, they're not needed to get up on plane, but that may be due to the extra weight this model carries up front. The CC's may need them for planing assistance?
