Is this a Sea Craft
 

A couple of years ago I bought a 1976 21' cuddy cabin for $2,500 that had the name Continental Marine on it. Well I've tried searching around and couldn't find any info on them but have seen a Sea Craft that looked like mine so I searched and saw some Sea Craft Safaris that looked like it. Under the make/model of the title it just says "1976 Cuddy Cabin" so my question is, is this a Sea Craft of did they just sell the mold to a small manufacturer after they stopped producing the model? So far I've loved the boat and all it's really needed is some cosmetic work. Here's a link to some photos if it helps.

based on the photo I was sent of the chines from behind and not having the vertical steps, my vote would be that it resembles a Safari, but it isn't.... Sure looks close though, doesn't it?!

what does the serial number read? if it's a seacraft it should start with secf for example my#is secf015073. It does look like an sc though, Im sure some of the other guys will chime in on their thoughts

I can't believe I didn't think of that. But the beginning of the serial number says CTLM now that I look at it which I guess it is a Continental and just a cheaper rip-off of a Sea Craft. At least I know they tried to copy a good boat instead of a piece of crap.

I've seen Continentals before and they closely resemble SeaCraft Sefaris. Another boat built in that same era was the Anna Capri which also looks like your boat. I would imagine that both were
well built boats. Seems that a lot of those 70's built boats were pretty heavy duty.

I have owned 3 SC's, an 18, a 20 and now a 23. Believe me, a Continental is a Continental - an Anna Capri is an AnnaCapri. There was also another copy built called a Barcone - only saw 2 - both on Long Island.

There's a Continental that looks just like your boat at a local marina - I think it's up for sale but I didn't inquire.

The copies have topsides that look like SC's but the bottom was patented and I think the patent just expired a few years ago (unless it was renewed) - but I know several builders are now offering variable degree deadrise hulls. In fact, I saw one at a show last year and it had what appeared to be a SC hull. When I approached the salesman he indicated that they had, indeed, modeled the boat after a SC. Actually it wasn't bad but it was a "rough boat", i.e., no full inner liner. I don't remember the name.
