20' seacraft project
 

Recently came across a 1971 seacraft center concole t-top that I've been working on. I have a 25" 200 rude to hang on the back with a jack plate. It has a 40 gal aluminmum gas tank under the concole. Has anyone fabaciated a larger tank I a older 20' seacraft? Also, has anyone had luck with such engine? thanks [img]/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

I had a new 75 gallon tank put in a '71 20'CC under the floor.

How much does that engine weigh???

I've got 50 gals in mine. With that live well removed then 70 is the way to go like Mark. Ithink he removed his during rehab. I run a early 90's 150 Johnson and it seems to go thru the fifty pretty quick.

Considering that I'm going with a new 4-stroke engine, the 75 gallon tank was probably overkill, but I had the space and felt that I could always turn the pump off at 40 gallons if I didn't want to carry that much fuel around on any given day. Post-rehab, I don't have a livewell in the floor, so the tank is quite long to distribute the weight evenly - it goes from about 24" forward of the transom all the way to where the casting deck begins.

If I recall correctly, the new 20's come with a 70 gallon tank.
