Rigging
 

OK - trying to get my stinkin' harnesses out. The engine wiring harness on my 23 seems lock solid from under the rear storage bin to up from under the console. I got my tilit / trim wiring out no problem, sheet thru a goose, but the harness doesn't budge. Is there anything that locks that down that I'm missing?

John, mine has two large cable holders (black metal type)on the plug on both sides of it.There are grooves that the clamps fit in.. They hold it solid-

Actually, I'm talking about the engine harnesses. The ones in the console go down into the raceways on the floor of each side of the console...

Mine slid right out however the fella that rigged it did not use the raceways that run from the consel on either side of the stringers. There is a groove cut in the foam that runs along the side of the stringer to the consel for the cables. Mine were just sitting on the top of the fuel tank. Have you removed the fuel tank hatch? that may give you more visability.

With the rear hatch out exposing the last foot of the tank, I can see no significant wiring or access to the cable raceways. When I reach down thru the access ports I can feel where the harness goes in on the other side of the stringer from the tank but I don't feel anything locking it - course it doesn't budge either.

Lifting out the center hatch right now would be a major PIA since it runs full length under the console and the console might need to come up as well to get it out. That's why I'm prayin' for a shortcut.

Here is a pic of the raceways in an I/O model. I think (and assume) that the cable raceways on the OB models runs more parralel to the tank instead of extending wawy from the tank on the I/O's - anyone know for sure (not rippping my deck out to know)

OK - got it... A little profanity, threats of mass violence, that's out (scary thing is I found ANOTHER harness in there - maybe they wanted trip 2THIRSTY5s on it [img]/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img] )

What did you end up using when you replaced the floors?
I opened up my 85 today and found pieces of wood being used as braces everywhere. Under the seat pedestals, sitting on top of the tank,; looks like a complete floor replacement coming up. Did you stick with 3/4 plywood or go with something more hi tech?

TD - that's someone else's boat. I plan to go to great lengths not to replace my floor. But when I eventually do, I'll probably do one of those honeycomb composites, nidacore or one of the other ones...
