Hi Codfeesh-

I see the fish weirs are in place now off of West Dennis and that is a good indicator that things should begin soon. Usually when the first big rush of stripers comes through in mid May there are lots of squid in the area. Water temps are super important and right now it's cold cold!

Man do I like seeing those fish weirs in place this time of year. Gotta love squid! The bluefish at Oregon can't be far behind - sweet!!

Re: SQUID

Last May, about the 30th or so, my buddy and I were out off Pt. Gammon fishing the rockpiles and the water was absolutely loaded with squid. The best part though, was seeing the first stripers of the season chasing these squid right out of the water as they fed. The squid were red as red could be!!!

Pt. Gammon at the end of May is always a sure bet for great topwater fishing. I cannot wait , this has been such a long, cold, horrible winter!
