Installing Speakers, where??

Hi All, I am going to install speakers on my 1984 23 CC, however, I am not sure where to put them. The speakers are round 6'inch diameter. I was thinking of putting them in the center console (1 on each side) but I thought I might not be able to hear them unless I blast it. I was also thinking about putting them in the transom storage compartments, 1 speaker on each side of the outboard facing the center console. About 4 inches off of the deck. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this??

I appreciate the help.

thx,

I installed the speakers on each side of the CC. I like them there because they don't interfear with anything and when I put my CC cover on for storage, they are protected. I can hear them just fine when the stero is low. When running, you will need to jam the sound up to hear it but I guess that would be the case anywhere you mounted them. Mounting them in the side of the console also simplified installation and wiring.
