What do you think is a good price for a 20' SC???

I looked at a 1975 20' SeaCraft today, it seemed to be in good shape for an old boat. The engine is shot, but it has a trailer. I thought I would offer 4500.00 What do you think?

jim for what its worth I bought my 73 20 for 3500 with a 1983 150 evinrude not that your price sounds too high but you should remember that a repower will be expensive no matter how you do it definitely have it surveyed and try to find out how much everything will cost first. I am only saying this because many seacrafts are bought and resold because of the costs involved with the resto good luck

If you end up getting a hull and a trailer for $4,500, nobody will accuse you of getting a great deal.

I second both above replies. The trailer is probably worth $750 and the hull, if otherwise complete is probably around $2000, maybe $2,500. As with any boat of it's era, assume inevitable transom and some/all cockpit floor replacement. Not to mention fuel tank, wiring, etc.

A new motor is $6,000 to $8,000.

Here is a 20' for $2500 in Maryland, $2000 cheaper than your offer and it's listed as OBO so you might even do better:
