My cable is stiff...help
My dealer installed throttle cables on my 115hp suzuki's 3 years ago and boy are they stiff.(and getting stiffer) I have checked for kinks and bends but there are none that would explain the stiffness. I can barely get the motors from fwd to reverse and forget finding neutral the first time. I saw shipshape and John G used some teleflex tx extreme cables and said they were smooth for applications that have many bends, he also said that's what honda uses. Any thoughts?????

Re: My cable is stiff...help
You said your WHAT was stiff????
Sorry, couldn't resist it... Those cables that John suggests are "the bomb"!!! Highly recommend them, used them, I agree 100%....nice stuff and well worth the price....you will not regret it... If you want to free up your other cables, take the cover off the motor and look at where they attach. On the exposed metal which slides in and out of the cable housing, spray some white litium grease, after you clean the garbage off of them. Work the cables forward, backward, inbetweenward....you should notice a big difference. Nothing will compare to the Extreme cables though.... |

Call Rose's Marine in Gloucester, MA 877.283.3334 ask for Rusty, Order the green cables. You can tie them in a knot and they still work. plus they are a little less expensive than the teleflex and morse.
