Transom replacement tips

Having done my first transom a couple of weeks back a couple of small things to help. Please add other tips or improve on mine.

1. How to keep the the stringer drain holes open and not covered over when working with epoxy in a hurry? My solution was to use small lengths of garden hose through each stringer drain hole...when I was done I just pulled and twisted the hose(the hose collapses when you twist)unitl I worked the hose loose. If I were to do in again I might put a layer of wax on the hose to make it break free easier.

2. Make sure the bow is jacked up, the extra resin will puddle against the transom and is easier to use and will probably work its way into the transom better.
