Key West fishing report

Just back from two excellent days of fishing in Key West. Capt Chuck and I drove down from Stuart to fish with several other members of this site who are guides there.

Day 1 found us fishing with "Reel Smoker" (Diego Toiran) for reef fish such as yellowtail, AJ's, etc. which was highly successful and fun. Diego was a real joy to spend the day with and was very knowledgable about his fishery.

Day 2 found us in the Marquesas with Joey Miller on his Hells Bay flats boat while chasing the various flats species there which included bonefish, permit, and tarpon (in addition to a goodly number of sharks and rays). Joey tirelessly poled us around many beautiful flats in search of fish and was politely tolerant of having two full size guests on his featherweight kevlar flats skiff.

If anyone is considering hiring a guide to go fishing in Key West, I highly recommend looking up either of these two fine guides. Their cell numbers are: Diego - 305.747.0114 and Joey - 305.747.6067

Capt Chuck will be posting photos of the fish that were landed shortly, stay tuned

Hadn't seen your pics until after SC77's pics up top. Your shots are haunting me now, Snapper Tempura with lots of wasabi + soysauce, ice cold beer, Bourbon, cigars. Never mind Fellowship Swords on the grill!
