Too much?
Recent for sale posting that I've followed up on: Potter era 20' Fisherman, 20" transom, thru transom scuppers (although the photo's don't show them), with a 1999, 200 HP Yamaha VMax 3.1L that NADA says weights 455#'s +/_.
Seller says it's a great rig and there are no wet feet while fisging/drifting with people standing in the rear of the boat. Seems contrary to most of what I've read on this site and learned about these boats over the last few months. Am I missing something; isn't this too much weight for this hull? |
Re: Too much?
I hope not. I have a 200 Johnson on my 72 20'. Course I raised the floor, added a 75 gal. tank forward of the CC. And moved the batteries under the CC. Depends on how the weight is distributed and the deck drain relocation.

Re: Too much?
maybe he has ball scuppers. With those, my feet stay dry and my motor weighs close to 500#

Re: Too much?
bobber,
Good looking rig. You seem to be saying that your feet are dry and you can run the heavy motor, but isn't this mainly due to all of the work and mod's you've done? The hull I was looking at had not been modified; that's why I was concerned about wet feet/too much weight. |

If you look under the post "20' drains" you can see the work on the drains. |
