Seats w/ tackle center / fishbox design needed...

Hey guys. Getting to be that time of the year ( even w/ snow on the ground and frigid weather ).

The continuing, never-ending project requires some more work. I'd appreciate some ideas /pictures of designs ( from other well-planned boats, not necessarily SC ) for building helm and passenger 'boxseats'; each would have a pedestal seat mounted - one 'box' would be for a tackle station and the other for fishbox. Other variations include a live well too.

This is for a 23' Tsunami.

I have played around with different ideas, and they all seem fairly simple in design with, of course, the inherent hours of fiberglassing, sanding, grinding, spraying, etc.

If you have any ideas or have seen anything worth mentioning - pls let me know. One thing the Tsunami is short on is useable storage. I definitely have the room to build something that can work well.

Thx...

Alan

Alan,
Check out Arrigoni Design and Birdsall Marine for ideas. I wish my father's Sceptre didn't have the factory built-in storage boxes because a set of storage cabinets with pedestal chairs would be the schnizzle.

I checked out what you sent, just for design ideas 'cause the prices are INSANE !

The pix of the Nautical Design one is close, but exactly the opposite of front and back of how I was thinking. I want a small pedestal to mount my seat to so your feet have a place to go. But, I am having a tough time visualizing it in my boat.

I did scout around and found some 24' Albermarle's that are set up w/ 'sort of' what I am looking for - but those applications just don't look that great - even if they are funtional.

The search continues. Keep ideas coming. THX

interesting enought, just thinking about building a console like the nautical design with a cooler under the seat and exposed storage shelf under the seats ( to keep tavle boxes, etc.)

I am building a seat for my 78 23 scepter. Last summer Ilost my pedistal on the port side. It opened up a whole new look. So much room. I bought a back to back seat and I built a new base big enough for a refridge in the front with 3 drawers on the back. All built with 2x4s covered with starboard and trimed out in teak. The only thing I think it might be a little heavy. My boat did lispt to the starboard side this might straighten it out or pehaps change it to the port.I am going to seal off my stern live well so that will help. Can't wait to float the boat. Chaz

Chaz,

You got any pix ? A guy I know has a Pursuit Denali (24') that has stock quality, well-built back to back seats on the pass side and I like the look, the functionality and the storage he has.

If you can, send me picture of your setup so I can see what you did.
