Re: Our 1979 23 Seacraft
I also forgot to post my question, how many of you guys closed of the vents on the sides, or did you leave them or take one set off. If we were to take them both out and close up the holes, would we need some other sort of ventaltion? Thank You

Re: Our 1979 23 Seacraft
SeaMaster, I too have a 1978 but I think my console is different than yours. If you go with twin 150's I think that is an awesome power package, I would also seriously consider twin yam 130's. Pretty good gas mileage, 27kt cruise and 45mph top. I had them on the boat before my 115 4s Suzuki's. 150 may up the top end by 5mph but will probably burn 17-18gph vs 14 with the 130's. You'll get good oomph from the 130's. I assume you are buying used or leftover engines to save $$$. You will be disappointed with a single 225 in my opinion.
How much time is herm going to take? Dare I ask a ball park estimate of what you plant to spend? |
Re: Our 1979 23 Seacraft
Briguy thank you for the info. As far as how long on the HermCo part, he is not sure because he has only seen pics and not the actual boat. We think it will probably be 2 months or less. At least that is what we hope. We also plan on spending maybe 20,000 or so at HermCo, then new electronics, and engines, we aren't sure about.
