vaccum pump size and type

I am considering vaccum bagging some hatch covers, but I am unsure about the size, type, etc. of the pump to use. Any assistance in this will be appreciated.

You will want a pump that can move about 4 1/2cuft of air for what your doing. The max hgin is not as important. You don't really want to pull down over 15hgin.

There are a lot of pump's that will pull down to 29hgin available out there. The problem is that they will not handle a lot of volume. You need one to pull at least 4 1/2 cuft of volume to make up for any leak's in the bag.

I suggest a port like this one.

I bought one of those "vacuum pump" thingees out of the back of Hustler magazeen a few years back. The only problem was figuring out how to get the resin off my weenie without burning.
