Transom Paint

Has anyone ever used Toplac by Interlux as a transom paint? I need something to last for a few years before I can have the entire transom gelcoated. My boat is trailered, can I paint the transom with Toplac then use bottom paint on the lower portion to match the existing bottom paint on the rest of the hull?

Yes, why not. I prefer Petit for one-part poly. Why not just do the gelcoat now?

Re: Transom Paint

I just blew my wad on a new 150 Yamaha 4 stroke. I am guessing, maybe incorrectly, that I can paint the transom for $50 as opposed to paying someone to do the gelcoating properly. Some day I will do it right, just not this year. Is gelcoating hard for someone with no experience?
