Trim Tabs for 23'

I am restoring a 1972 23' center consol - formerly twin I/O.
I am going with a 250 Suzuki on an Armstrong bracket. I am down to choosing trim tabs and seek some advice.Bennett says 9x24 but I don't think they have given the bracket much thougth- hopefully one of you have gone down this path.

Welcome to the CSC Forum WYN

Please introduce yourself and post a small bio for your first post

12 x 12 tabs will be perfect with your bracket. Here's a picture of mine with the SeaMark bracket...

BTW: Don't forget to get your 1972 Potter Stickers

I have the 12”x12” on my 23 CC and they work just fine. I would not go bigger or smaller either.

Chuck, How's your boat coming along? Hopefully the river will clean up before your new boat goes in.

Bennett says 9x24

Tabman (Tom) from Bennett has said , on this site, that either the 12x12 or the M120 (12x10 batwing thing) are the appropriate fit for the 23. Do a search for "Tabman" for all the details.

Yo Capt Chuck ....Those new Tabs ... Lookin pretty shiny ...I think you should "bling" them out and have em electroplated

Thanks for the quick response.I'll try to get something going on a bio, but there isn't much to tell.
I am retired and have a charter fishing business on the Chesapeake Bay. This will be my second boat in the company- the other is a 40',36 year old wooden deadrise style.
I'll try to keep you posted on my progress on the 23'.I have ordered and received my classic stickers.
If you have finished your boat tell me about performance.

Wyn,

Welcome to the site. Good luck on your project. Do you know the sailer out of Deltaville that recently singlehanded the 5000 mi. Great Loop in his Cal 25? Great story in current Soundings.

I also spoke with Tom at Bennett at the Miami show. He knows SeaCraft 23's and recommended the M120's, which I bought. Others have them and love them.

Thanks for the welcome.Don't know the Deltaville sailor, but I'll try to find the article and look him up.
There are many hundreds sailboats in Deltaville, most seldom leave the dock.
