livewell changes

what changes have some of you done to the in the floor livewell? I dont often live bait fish so i dont feel like need to carry 35 gallons of water around all the time.(thats more than the weight differance between a 4 stroke and a 2 stroke). Les

Re: livewell changes

This has been on my mind since I bought my seaCraft 3 years ago. I have toss around a few different way to lose that well. First I was going put in the plug and install a pump. but I have decided to install the plug and caulk the sh-t out of the hatch on 3 sides and leave the front open and just check from time to time and see just how much water does get in there. For now i'm going to pump it with a hand pump. if I find I'm pumping to often I' ll perhaps install a small rule with a float switch. Or maybe I fill the live well with styrofoam to displace that 35 gallons and seal all 4 sides of the hatch. CHAZ

Re: livewell changes

When I re did my 1977 23’ CC I removed the old well and made a new 32 gal tank moved it forward where the newer SeaCrafts have theirs just behind the Seat I have a scoop and cut off valve going through the bottom of the boat SOOOOOOOO if I don’t want water I turn the valve and if I DOOOOOOOOO want water I turn the valve. Now I have access to the transom area where now I keep my bilge pumps and transducer and intake for my live well and it’s pump. Works great and helps move more weight forward as well.

Well, as long as they are beer cans I guess that is all right.
