leaning post options

I am looking to purchase a leaning post for each of my Seacrafts. I was looking at the Todd enterpises double with the backrest, but it doesn't look that well built. What are moptions for the least amount of $$$$?????

If you subscribe to Florida Sportsman Mag, there are plenty of advertisers in the back. I used smitty's in homestead, fl. I bought a pretty basic leaning post with 3 rod holders. The only recommendation to you would be to get one with a flip up seat for storage. Perhaps a footrest also.

Do you remember how much you paid off hand? I know I'm asking a lot, but do you have any pics of yours? I am desperate and don't get the magazine you mentioned. thanks!

Re: leaning post options

I went with one from an outfit in FL called Marine Manufacturing (305-885-3493) for just under $600. I don't know if that fits your cost criteria. They say they do a large volume for OEMs, suggesting that the quality is great, but there's little flexibility in options. The storage under the seat is a little smaller than some I've seen, but otherwise it seems very well built and looks sharp. It has a hinged footrest, a backrest and four rod holders built in.

Re: leaning post options

Well, I just purchased 2 leaning posts from a guy in Florida that was selling new ones on Ebay. He worked with me on price and options. They have welded rod holders, backrests, folding footrests, choice of colr for cusions, aluminum storage bin under cushion, and choice of pleated or smooth material. $1200 for 2 after everything including shipping! I thought that was a great deal. these things are nice! Thanks for the input guys, but I couldn't turn this deal down.

Want to give us a name and number for the guy, for future reference?

Andrew,
I bet you dealt with Ray on Ebay. I just got a seat from him, its not a bad deal at all for the $$ but stay on top of him if you ordered something extra. He forgot to weld a cooler bar for me and is sending me back the extra $$ I gave him to do so. Good luck..

I didnt realize that you were also from Long Island. It took Ray longer to deliver the post too. Nice guy though.

Rgds,
Mike
