Just finished painting my 1977 23 CC

My original red 23 CC was looking pretty bad. More white than red.

When I bought the boat in 1994 I sanded buffed and polished her back to a decent red finish but that only lasted about a year or so.. It got to the point in the last few years that any amount of elbow grease would not work so...
Last week I started sanding and preparing the hull for paint -

I decided to try Tom Fabula's Signature Finish paint and it came out with an impressive finish for a roll on application... This is 3 coats and I have not buffed it yet... According to Tom you can buff the paint to acheive an even better finish. But considering what it looked like before this is a vast improvement.

Up next will be the topside (recessed cleats, bow light etc.) and I plan on enclosing the transom..

Gotta get some fishing in first..

Thanks to everyone on this site for all the info.. I have been a long time reader and just became a "Stranger"
a few weeks back.

Nice results! How long did it take to do?

Thanks -

It took a little over a week - and that was just working on her in the evening after work till about dark and a couple hours this past Saturday and Sunday.. The actual painting process was quick.. in about 10 min we had her coated.
The 1st coat went on Saturday, next coat Sunday afternoon and the third Monday evening after work.
It's the prep work that is a little time consuming.

Thumbs up !!!

I love the picture in your signature, I am going to put it on the front page of the sate, if that is ok.

For the Recessed lights and cleats go with Accon brand, Jim from BOE has them here is a Link

Thats a great Idea!!

The CS.com Logo on the front and that image on the back....What do you guys think?

Maybe have the image altered to more of a line drawing so it would last longer?

I went to the classicmako website and the shirts they have are pretty cool... I'm all for the t-shirt idea..

Let me know if some up front $$$ is needed...

The t-shirt idea sounds great, and the line drawing would look pretty slick. I asked Fishjack to send me his avatar pic and now I have it as my wallpaper. That is just an awesome shot.

Trayder - did you get my PM last Sunday?
