teleflex issues

I am in the process of rigging my freshly redone 20 CC and I ran into a problem yesterday with the steering. I am running a late 80's merc 150 and a NFB teleflex system. When the cable comes out by the transom, it will not line up with the steering tube on the motor. The steering tub is lined up with the actual transom instead of being lined up with the notch that was made for the steering arm to travel in. Is there a bracket or other steering tube option for that motor I can purchase to move it forward? I surely hope so......

My advice would be to spent $500 and get hydralic steering.Throw the telifex away.It was ok back then but you boat will handle much better with hydralic steering.Seastar makes a good out fit that takes little time to install and will make the boat handle and steer allot better..

Re: teleflex issues

I have a hydraulic setup on my 23' and my 20' is fine without it. I actually fixed the problem today by swapping the lift bracket with a spare my friend had. Thanks anyway.
