Current / slack water information ???
Hey guys - first time posting here - I was hoping you could help me find some info. My local newspaper, Newsday here in NY, stopped printing the current information i.e. slack water at high tide, that I have learned to depend on for fishing and surfing. Any idea where I can get this info for my inlet, Fire Island Inlet, Long Island ? I have looked on the 'net and cannot find anything ?! I used to be able to plan my fishing to the minute based on this info. When I contacted the newspaper, they just said, they had to cut it out for more advertising space ! #@$%^ !!!! Thx. |

Re: Current / slack water information ???
Thx guys, I am working on asking the paper - the holiday weekend through off speaking to him. And thx for the website - I actually found that one already - used it to plan for this weekend. I want one that shows me weekly or even monthly current info - I used to get weekly info in the paper ( this allowed me to know when it was absolutely necessary to blow off work to fish or surf ) |
Re: Current / slack water information ???
The local tackle shops sometimes carry tide charts for the season or whole year, ask around.-PF

Re: Current / slack water information ???
You saw an abridged version; it showed only 2-3 days worth of high and low tide. It used to show tides AND the current ( slack water ) for a week. The current info is what I need. Tidal info is easily accessable. |
