Advice : 1987 23' seacraft CC

Oh wise ones
New to the seacraft world and would appreciate any advice you could give me concerning the purchase of a 87 23' cc no motors. Trailer is included.
The boat was left unattended bilge pumps failed (dead batteries) and she eventually rolled over.Owner says its been rewired but thats it. Had twin 200hp's. Asking price 7500.00. What do you think? Probably have it surveyed

Sounds like a project!!!

Where is the boat located?

How do the deck & transom look and feel? Does it need to be painted?

Going to look at it this afternoon . I briefly scoped it out this past spring in a downpour when he was asking 11,000 for it , looked solid and paint wasn't bad. Boat is located in southern Maine, don't see many around here.

Maineman,

Compare it against this boat web page

The hermco bracket alone is worth several thousand.

Good luck.

Is the transom on the boat that you are looking at open or closed?

The transom is open with what looks like apiece of solid aluminum on both sides . Just got back with some pics will post when I figure out how. Hull is in real good shape just a little faded.

Maineman,

If you post the pictures up (here is one web site where you can post pictures for free) web page there are some excellent people on the CSC web site who can give you excellent feedback.

More often than not, you don't have to put alum. on a good transom ? and being in the salvage bussines if the boat rolled or sank you might be looking at weld probs in the fuel cell, corrosion on the welds and so forth if its a alum. tank . so if you want a project go a head if you get the boat for a deal. you might want to think about getting a moisture test on the boat to know about the transom and stringers. good luck

Moisture test will be done when the boat is surveyed this week .Thanks for your help.Price now at 7000.00 could go lower depending on survey results.
