Barnacles on i/o - clean up ??

Hi. I went away for (2.5) weeks and came back to find my Bravo 3 outdrive on my 23' Tsunami covered with growth and barnacles. It is a (2) season, "new" drive and I have not painted her w/ antifouling yet - I know this will ultimately help, however,

- how can I get the remnants ( the epoxy like base ) of the barnacle off once I've knocked the living organism off ?

- And, my SS props are also a bit barnacled and w/ growth. How can polish these ? Can I use steel wool on them ?

I clean her during the season to keep growth to a minimum, and it is a hassle, but it's the nature of the beast I guess. This is my 1st i/o and first boat with SS props ( For the past 25 years it's always been an o/b that I could tilt out of the water )

Thx.

Try using ON-OFF straight. The acid melts the little suckers.

No effect on the paint or finish ? If not, that would be great.

Nah, it works great on two week old dry fish blood too.
