Sceptre Hardtop
I am interested in putting a hardtop on my 23 Sc...does anyone have experience/advice on this subject? I got some info from Atlantic Towers, they have a couple different designs. Anyone ever dealt with them before? Any advice and/or comments would be appreciated!

Re: Sceptre Hardtop
I have a hardtop that came on mine when I bought it. I like it, the only negatives are weight, and air resistance (you lose 1-2 mph).

Do you have any idea who made that top? What you have is pretty much what I am looking for...do you have curtains on it?

Re: Sceptre Hardtop
It has full curtains all the way around. I don't know who made it, or what it cost.

Jon-
You're probably better off having a local marine fabricator make you a hardtop versus buying one from Atlantic. I have seen the Atlantic versions at the boat shows and while they are less expensive...they just look cheap with all those bolts, etc to make it fit. |

Re: Sceptre Hardtop
Personally, I would not add the hardtop. I have heard that the added weight changes the ride characteristic a bit. The Tsunami/Sceptre has enough added weight as compared to the 23CC just by having the cuddy. You will be adding that much more on. No doubt that the enclosure would be awesome to have - I would love one too; rocket launchers, a dry, wind-less helm - for me a place to put my surfboards - However, I have decided not to go this route because I would not one to change a damn thing in terms of the great ride I get. I will be adding a hi-quality soft top w/ full, offshore grade enclosure glass in the near future - for all the reasons noted ( except the darn surfboards ! ) Good luck in your decision. Maybe someone who has the same boat, used it for a few seasons and then added the hardtop later could give some input as to any change in ride. |
