Fuel Vent

The fuel tank on my 89 23cc is a 134 gallon tank. It has 2 vent hoses, one 5/8 that comes off the front, and a 3/8 that comes from the rear beside the fuel pickup. What is the purpose of the smaller vent? And is it required? Les

Re: Fuel Vent

The 3/8in one sound's like a 2nd fuel pickup for twin motor's.

Re: Fuel Vent

The forward line is more apt to be a vent, rear line for pick up, I concur.

in the original tank there was no pickup tube just a elbow and a 3/8 line that teed into the 5/8 vent line right below the vent. It would be job to run that 3/8 line up to the vent and i dont see the purpose in it. Just wondering did anybody else find 2 vent lines on their tank

That doesn't make any sence to me. That would cause a BIG air leak in the fuel system going to the motor and the motor would not run right.

there is a second fitting that goes to the motor with a pickup tube, the one beside it does not have a pickup tube, but joins the 5/8 vent hose right below the vent. If it has no use im not going to put it back on the new tank. Les
