Evinrude E-Tec Engines.
 

Good afternoon Gentlemen~

I've been doing some reading on Evinrude's new e-tec engines as wondering if anyone has any opinions on this topic. The articles I've read have said that they're supposed to be quite efficient for two strokes. Any advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have also been hearing great things (that they are as good as as any 4 stroke out there, if not better). I also hear that they are very expensive.

Given the resources, I would buy an e-Tec 225 for my 23 in a heartbeat. They are priced about the same a Honda here in Western New York. The weight issue makes them the best choice for non-bracketed 23's. [img]/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

I own one right now and have run a boat with twin Etec. They are as great as you hear. Wait til you see my new setup. I will have two on the back of my 23.
Fuel economy is equal to if not better than some four strokes. Just as quiet. More torque.

Thanks for everyone's advice. Guess that Bombardier really has perhaps turned around the outboard engine situation regarding Johnson/Evinrude motors.

200 HP.
Evinrude has a new 60 degree block in 150 hp - 200 hp.The weight is over 100 lbs less that a normal 200 Hp four stroke or two stroke. I was going only to put on a single 250 but the boat is rated for 400 so why not max it out.

Plus I may drop down and fish the 23 and under divsion in the kingfish circuit. So I wanted more speed.

Skiblet-Let us see the photos and some performance #'s. We all need to be distracted from work today [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]. I noticed that the Rude 200's are 419lbs the other day. That's less than the Zuke 140 by a couple pounds? The power vs. weight has got my attention for my future repower on my bracket that currently has 2 225 497 lb. Mercs.

Hey now I went Black now i might go back ? Humm, Wonder if the other boy'z are gonna follow suit. Sure don't wanna go 4 stroke. Like that torque. Gotta have that Hole shot down here.The weight issue is a big importance too. This outta help Ev's Reputation If they make it through the 2 year mark w/no problems. I'll check with a few Keys Guides on Their output.
Sounds good! Guess it would look ok with a "WHITE E " on the back.What color Flames for it?
