SeaCraft copy Cat
Saw this at the local yacht dealer the other day. The ultimate flattery if you own a 23 seaCraft. It's a 26 Albin diesel inboard. Very nice fit and finish on the outside. I was a little dissapointed at the finish under the hatches and bilge. Sloppy rolled on gel coat with runs. Hoses secured with cheap k-mart zip ties. Paint splashed on some of the wiring etc.. The stringer system appears to be plywood 2-3 inches thick... not that there is anything wrong with that but I'll take my foam filled stringers any day over that. The Salesman did not know much about the boat other then it could take you out in the ocean safely. I educated him about the variable deadrise hull and the soft ride etc....etc....so maybe he will not look like a total dummy when he tries to sell the thing. Oh by the way it goes for $111,000

Chuck - I love the flush deck. Are those heaters on the sides?

Re: SeaCraft copy Cat
I wonder how long the toilet paper stays dry on that TP holder? It always makes me wonder about the stuff I can't see when under the deck and bilges are poorly finished. It may not affect the physical quality of the boat but if the builder scrimped there where else did they cut corners? Albin has been around for a long time so they should know how to build them right. It looks a little like the MA with the gunnel cap. Those interior vents must be for the diesel fresh air intakes. They need plenty.

Re: SeaCraft copy Cat
BS on the Albin homepage. Quotes speed depending on choice of engine at (28 to 48kts) 55 MPH with a single diesel??????? I'm calling BS. Here is the link. Otherwise I think its sharp. I always wanted a 26 SeaCraft diesel.
I requested a free DVD on the boat. http://www.albinmarine.com/ExpressTr...ssTrawler.html |
Re: SeaCraft copy Cat
Bri - I agree with you. I guess I forgot that Cape Cod Marine sold out to Albin. I read somewhere a while back that the single yanmar 440hp in this boat would cruise at 38mph . . . and top out at 45mph. I couldn't find the info . . but this link seems to support those numbers. 55 is too fast for moving all that weight.
