Teak for Stern Storage boxes

I have lost the teak covers for both storage boxes in the stern. If my memory serves me correct I will need two pieces that are something like 11.5" x 11.5".

My 64k question is how thick should the pieces be. I found a teak board that is 12" x 48" x 7/8". Is 7/8" too thick or not?

I just redid mine with starboard. The old piece was 1/2 thick with another piece attached below that also 1/2 thick.

They were.

Try and find someone to let you borrow one so you could pop a mold. No biggie.
