The Seavette is @ Wildfire Marine

Well (2 weeks ago) I finally was able to take the Seavette to Wildfire Marine to under go some much-needed repairs and modifications. I also had the opportunity to meet Capt Chuck, his SC, and his lovely family. Thinks for the great hospitably. I hope to be able to keep you guys up to date with the progress. Mike said that it was going to be about 3 weeks before he could get started on it, so after this coming weekend I'll give him a call and see where he is at on it. I'm going to try to go over there for the big flea market thing and meet some of you other CSC people.

Steve,
What is Mike doing to the Vette? From what I've seen of his work, you will be pleased. Of course you got to see Chuck's boat, so you already know what to expect. Keep us posted with progress pics if possible.

He is fixing soft spots on the top cap, re coring, and refinishing the floor. Removing the teak on the outside, and he is going to make the engine hatch narrower in width. I'm having him repair several screw holes as well.

Hey Steve!

Sounds like you'll have a sweet machine when he's threw.

What's the scoop with the soft spot on the cap? I have one too, around where the skylight is. I originally thought that was solid glass, but if it's soft there must be a core??
I need to get in there and rip out the cruddy indoor/outdoor carpet someone plasterd up.

Chris, It has soft spots on each side where the skylight used to be, and it's spongy behind the forward hatch. I think that we need to put some "Shag" carpet on the ceiling of our boats and hang up a disco ball.

Sounds like the Sea Vette is a pretty cool machine. If you guys wouldn't mind could you post some interior pictures of the boats? I have a Whitewater cuddy that needs an interior and I'm sure I could get some ideas from the Sea Vettes. Besides I'm sure guys are dying to see what they look like on the inside. Thanks in advance for your time.

Here's some boat porn. I know it's no Sea Vette.

Here's a little progress on the Seavette. Capt. Chuck was nice enough to go down to Wildfire Marine and take a few pics for me. Big thanks to Capt. Chuck. I talked to Mike a couple of days ago and he said that the floor was now back in the boat.
