Waiting for a 25 Seafari
First, my thanks for all those who organized or posted on this site. For a former 20 Seafari owner, Classicseacraft is a huge kick.
I'm looking for a 25 Seafari to replace my dying 24 Seabird. Having gone through most of this site, I recognize how long I may have to wait and would appreciate some info from you guys. Anybody here own one? It would really help to talk to someone who has or had one. There were two pics of a redo in progress with the owners name, but I could not find them today. The hull specs look like it is not the same design as the other Seacrafts, same beam but more draft, more deadrise, etc. Am I interpreting these specs correctly? If it is really a different hull design, how does that affect handling, ride, fuel economy, especially roll, etc. How much does it weigh, dry, no engines? The specs say 3000 lbs., which seems a little light. Are the specs reliable in this area? I've seen other figures. Thank you all. |
Re: Waiting for a 25 Seafari
I've only seen one (a yellow one with a tower) in the last four years on boat trader/yachtworld/etc. I think someone on the board bought it!! Only 80 or so ever made . . .

Re: Waiting for a 25 Seafari
There was one in Chatham MA for sale for a long time. But that was a few years back. Don't know what's happened to that.

Re: Waiting for a 25 Seafari
I would also like to see some pics of a 25 seafari for ideas. It seems similiar to my 25 Whitewater setup. Is that a cook top I see in the NEW brochure section?

Re: Waiting for a 25 Seafari
A couple years ago there was a nice one for sale on Martha's Vineyard. That is the only one I've ever seen.

Re: Waiting for a 25 Seafari
There is one on Ebay right now that claims to be a 25. I am not too familiar with the Seafari's, so I cannot tell whether it is actually a 25 or a 23. Anyway, you won't be able search for "Seacraft" in Ebay's search engine because he concatenated the Seacraft and the 25. He also designated it as a Safari rather than a Seafari. He claims Potter built, but that hull id number doesn't look right to me. Perhaps the more knowledgeable members here could comment.
