Lenco-electric tabs?
 

I am looking for tabs for my 20' MA. Anybody know much about Lenco tabs and if they would work on the 20' MA.

I went with Bennett's m-120's couldn't be Happier ! (20' MA) Their a lil' over kill ,But these SeaCrafts are a lil' Stearn Heavy. I was advised by "TABMAN" way back to go to the larger & they are the ticket.It doesn't take much to ballast Her out. "TABMAN" will jump in here I'm sure.Their warranty & HELP is the Best ! I have the Lenco's on a 25 Whitewater and they work excellent. They have been on the boat for 5 years and I have not had a problem yet. I hope I don't jinx my self. They work great and I like not having an extra hydraulic pump and line. That being said, I have heard nothing but good things about Bennett trim tabs from this site and others but as far as the Lenco's I am happy with them.

I have Lenco's on all my skiffs and although I like them,I go through an actuator(sp?)every year or so.They are very responsive and easy to install and replace(which you will do alot)but if you have the room for the rigging and don't mind the slight delay in response,I would say put on the Bennets,fill'em full of fluid and forget them for many years.

I have the same experience and opinion as Joey.

I have Lenco's on my 20 due to space limitations and have replaced an actuator a year. I actually purchased a spare as I know it is only a matter of time before I lose another. Lenco replaces them free of charge but you have to wait.

I have had Bennetts on all my other boats and have never had a single hiccup.

My bennets always gave me trouble because I mounted them under the deck where they were succeptable to moisture and salt. They never worked well for me. Lenco's are faster and that's what I happily run now.

I have Lenco's on my 1991 Mako. The actuators lasted up to a few years ago and then one crapped out and I replaced them both. Unfortunately, because they were so old and not under warranty...I had to pay for the replacements which kinda sucked. The good new is that I have not had a problem since.

However, with that said...I would have no problems switching over to Bennett's on my next boat because TABMAN's customer service is unbelievable.

I like the response with the Lenco's ... and almost went with them. However I was out on a brand new 24 cc with them on and one tab didn't work :D
That along with what others have said about Bennett's and Tabman, I have a brand new set waiting for springtime !! To top it off I was talking with Tom about mounting. Told him I wanted the HPU in the console, so he had a set of hydraulic lines made and sent to me ... NO CHARGE :rolleyes:

Oh and the other reason I have them ... the Bennett "spokesman" :D

Pretty much anyone who has the pleasure of dealing with Bennett's customer service department becomes a spokesman...

If they both took up the same amount of room, the choice would be a lot easier. However, when space is tight, one option is smaller than the other. I've had both and have not had any troubles with either....yet.
