225 Optimax on Tsunami
Does anyone have any performance numbers on a Tsunami with a 225 Optimax on a bracket? I am trading my 1996 250 Merc EFI for a 225 Opti. Thanks for the info

Re: 225 Optimax on Tsunami
Since nobody has replied, I will give it a shot. The 250 efi is a gas hog as you already know. Although the dealer is the best one to give you the estimate and maybe thehulltruth.com would be the best place to post this question I will give it my best guestimate. If you told us what prop you were running and what your cruise and fuel burn at lets say 4k rpm was it would make it easier. My best guess is 23-25kts cruise at 10gph and 36-39kt max. A 250 Suzuki seems to really be the best single power for the 23 because it swings a larger diameter prop and can push a bigger hull. I have twin 115 Suzi's on a bracket and my cc runs 25kts at 4k burning 10.5 and wot at 39kts. I get the same mpg from 18kts to 31kts at about 2.8mpg. Hope this helps. A member Trever Hicks has a 250 Suzi on his 23.

Re: 225 Optimax on Tsunami
I have a 225 opti on my 23 center console, notched transom- no bracket. I have a 17" pitch stainless Merc. prop, I can't rember the name of the prop. At 4000 r.p.m. it does 27-28 kts. per g.p.s. Gets a little better than 3 m.p.g.
