Electric Trolling motor on a 20
Anybody have a trolling motor on the front of thier 20 footer? I see alot of boats using a trolling motor to stay with the bait pods when fishing, I have not seen one on a Seacraft. Just wondering what peoples experience has been.

I have two on the stern - lenco troll-n-tabs. The concerns I had regarding bow mount had to do with clutter while fly fishing. Also, they (IMO) are an ugly wart on the nose of a beautiful boat. And, on a high profile boat, they tend to come out of the water in a swell.

Another option would be the Rip Tide that goes on the Cav plate of the motor, same theory as the Lenco's

There are some significant differences though. The ventilation plate mounted motors require the O/B to be all the way down, so no shallow water maneuvering.
Also, the tab mounted electrics allow you to rotate the boat. The others don't. This is very helpful when adjusting boat angle when fly casting. |
